Which Models Will Lexus Unveil at 2015 Detroit Auto Show?
The upcoming 2015 Detroit Auto Show will host the premiere of the new Lexus models. It’s sure that the Japanese manufacturer is going to unveil at least one new model, but according to the latest reports, the 2015 NAIAS might have two new Lexus models. It’s still secret which cars will be introduced. Some speculations claim that there will be the new 2016 Lexus RX and the new 2016 Lexus GS F. Although the RX crossover will be new, we shouldn’t expect a model which will be significantly different from the current one. As for the 2016 GS F, it’s probably going to be one of the most attractive sedans at the forthcoming NAIAS. The performance sedan will be released as a serious rival of the BMW M5 and the Audi S6. The sedan will probably be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine which will probably deliver around 500 horsepower.
2016 Lexus GS F Expectations
Of course, it’s important to stress one more time that these are just speculations. Nobody can say with certainty which models will be introduced at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Since the development of the 2016 Lexus GS F is, practically, over, there’s a great possibility that the performance sedan has its debut in Detroit. Naturally, everything about this car is still secret, but the rumors revealed that the 2016 GS F will borrow the engine from its coupe counterpart, the Lexus RC F. Having in mind that the 5.0-liter V8 engine delivers 457 horsepower and 389 lb-ft of twist to the wheels of the coupe, we can’t expect significantly better power output. However, it’s been rumored that the 2016 Lexus GS F will have a boosted version of the V8 that can deliver around 500 horsepower.
Novelties That Will Come With 2016 Lexus RX
The possible crossover addition to the Lexus’ Detroit appearance could be the 2016 Lexus RX. Although the exterior changes of the crossover won’t be very radical, the interior of the 2016 RX might be significantly different, since it could get the third row of seats. This novelty will be a great perk which comes with the crossover, since the market segment doesn’t offer many models with more than five seats. Of course, the third-row seats won’t provide the same comfort as the other seats, but they will be very useful and probably a feature that’s going to boost the SUV’s sales. The 2016 Lexus RX will come with a four-cylinder and a V6 engine. There will also be a hybrid powertrain option, too.
2015 Detroit Auto Show Lexus Premieres
Since there’s no official confirmation of the rumors, we have to wait for the 2015 NAIAS in order to find out whether they will introduce those particular models, but there’s no doubt that the auto show will host at least one Lexus premiere.
