Redesigned 2018 Maserati GranTurismo Won’t Have Convertible GranCabrio Version
The recent reports about the 2018 Maserati GranTurismo brought some unexpected news. Reportedly, the next-generation of the GranTurismo won’t be available as a convertible. It’s going to have just a coupe version which is probably going to be smaller than the current one. The plan is to transfer the potential buyers of the Maserati GranCabrio to the Maserati Alfieri, a new muscular car, which will come both as a coupe and as a convertible, called the Alfieri Spider. Having a coupe version only could help the 2018 Maserati GranTurismo to profile as a conventional two-door grand tourer whose performance will compensate the fact that it doesn’t have a drop-top version. Although we’d like to see it on the roads sooner, the redesigned Maserati GranTurismo will be released late 2017 as a 2018 model. In spite of the fact that there’s a lot of time until the 2018 GranTurismo takes its veil off, we know that it’s going to be powered by a really stunning engine which is estimated to generate more than 560 horsepower.
2018 Maserati GranTurismo Body Redesign
Having a rich heritage and a lot of expectations to meet, the redesigned 2018 Maserati GranTurismo will have to come with amazing performance and shocking specs. The new body, which will be smaller and probably lighter, will help in improving the performance. Its design language is expected to be evolutionary. While the body changes will be made in order to improve the car’s performance, there’s no doubt the redesigned exterior will bring more attractive appearance. This won’t be just a byproduct; they’re developing a new style for the 2018 GranTurismo because of the need to reinvent the Trident marque’s style once again. A lot of people agree that the current Maserati’s design language is a benchmark used by many other automakers. We don’t know how hot the new GranTurismo will be, but perhaps the automaker decided to raise the bar even higher.
GranTurismo’s V8 Engine
The engine which will be installed under the hood of the new 2018 Maserati GranTurismo will be a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 mill which will deliver more than 560 horsepower. When the V8 meets the lighter aerodynamic body of the new coupe, it simply must result in incredible performance.
