Mercedes-Benz Concept Teased Ahead of 2015 CES

The upcoming 2015 CES will have yet another attractive premiere. Judging by the shape of the vehicle depicted on the teaser image, Mercedes-Benz is going to introduce something remarkable in several days in Las Vegas. Some speculations say that this might be the very first autonomous Mercedes-Benz vehicle.

The silhouette of the car is pretty unconventional. It indicates that this is not an ordinary vehicle with conventional powertrain. There are sources which claim that this is a car which was spotted during a driving test under heavy camouflage. And it seems that the concept is the Mercedes-Benz autonomous vehicle.

What we can learn from the teaser image is that the car won’t have a usual body shape. It has a strange roofline and really short overhangs. Also, there’s an intriguing fin at the top of the roof where the automaker has placed sensors, cameras and radars, according to some speculations. Of course, no one can say with certainty what the purpose of this unconventional addition is.

However, we’ll be able to tell more about this concept once they reveal it at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show. Another German automaker, BMW, has already announced that they will introduce an autonomous system – called the Remote Valet Parking Assistant – at the 2015 CES.

The premiere of the Mercedes-Benz concept is scheduled for January 5th at 8PM PDT.
