Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Concept — Luxury & Elegance
The 2014 Paris Auto Show had yet another luxury car premiere. The Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Concept was unveiled in Paris as a part of the centennial celebration of the brand. The Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition is based on the Ghibli S Q4, but its style is drastically improved. Although the sedan was altered in numerous ways and some of those are noticeable from the outside, the interior of the special edition is where they expressed all the talent they had. As every other luxury sedan, the Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna brings an amazing interior design, comfort and indulgence, but the style and refinement of the car’s interior isn’t something that’s common in the modern automotive world. Made with care and passion, the interior of the Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna is just an art piece for itself. It’s not known whether this edition will be released as a production model, but it’s plausible. This way, the Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna would follow the Quattroporte Zegna Edition and it will proudly sit at the top of the Ghibli range.
Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Style And Appearance
The appearance of the Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna is improved with the Azzurro Astro tint — a tri-layer metallic blue tone whose name could be translated as Star Blue. The color is made to help the beauty of the Ghibli’s body to be better expressed. Its curves and gentle lines could be perceived better due to the special effect the color makes. The unique exterior is underlined by four 20-inch alloy Urano wheels which shine with Liquid Metal finish. Those features are enough to make the Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna distinctive from the rest of the lineup.
Interior Of Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna
The interior, on the other hand, is significantly more improved. Large surfaces of quality leather aren’t something strange for a luxury sedan, but upholstery of the concept is really special. It combines leather and pure Zegna silk, making an impressive cabin design. They also used glossy carbon-fiber for details like the door panels and the central tunnel. Aside from the Zegna silk applied wherever possible — ceiling, pillars, door panels, even the sunshades where they placed the labels that say: Ermenegildo Zegna Exclusively for Maserati — the cabin also has some aluminum details. It’s really hard to describe how amazing the interior of the Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Concept is, since it should be experienced.
Powertrain Specs: V6 Engine, Transmission & Drive
The Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Concept has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which delivers 404 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. The mill is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which is connected to all four wheels, since the sedan has the Q4 all-wheel drive. Thanks to the powertrain, the sedan accelerates from standstill to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Its top speed is 176 mph.
Could This Concept Be Production Version?
As we already said, it’s not clear whether the manufacturer will make a production car of the Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Concept, but it’s pretty possible.
