Lexus LF-C2 Concept Teased before Los Angeles Premiere
The upcoming 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show is going to host the premiere of the Lexus LF-C2 concept. The automaker already released a teaser image where we can see the car’s outline under the eclipse. Although it’s pretty mysterious and secret, the Lexus LF-C2 concept seems like a convertible version of the Lexus RC coupe. In order to find out more about the convertible we have to wait for the debut scheduled for November 19th. It’s known that the car is probably based on the RC coupe, but numerous other details are still secret. We don’t know anything about the car’s powertrain, about its roof and other features which may be really attractive. Having in mind that the Lexus RC coupe is a car with impressive specs and features, the convertible iteration is expected to be at least equally amazing. If they release a version based on the RC F coupe, this convertible might be the most popular drop-top for the next season.
Possible Powertrain of Lexus LF-C2
If the Lexus LF-C2 comes with the same powertrain as its coupe counterpart, it will treat its owner with a really extraordinary experience. The base RC is powered by a V6 engine, but the most attractive choice is the 2015 Lexus RC F. This model has a 5.0-liter V8 engine which delivers more than 450 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The feel of driving a drop-top with such a powerful engine is always an astonishing experience. Depending on a package, the RC F might be equipped with a Torque Vectoring Differential. Of course, the RC F is a full-blooded performance coupe, so the Lexus LF-C2 concept could inherit the same DNA.
Will There Be Lexus LF-C2 Production Version?
Needless to say, the Lexus LF-C2 is just a concept, so there’s no certain information about a possible production version. However, the mere fact that the automaker decided to introduce a topless version is a hint that they’re considering releasing a production version. Of course, the detailed specs of the Lexus LF-C2 will be known once this car is unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show. There’s no doubt that the automaker won’t disappoint us, but we have to wait in order to find out how impressive the LF-C2 concept will be.
