Is This New Lexus GS F? Teaser Photos Analyzed
What could this be? Lexus, of course, won’t reveal which vehicle is depicted at the recently released teaser photos, but according to the speculations, the new model could be the Lexus GS F. They just said that this is “a track-ready Lexus” and that it will be introduced at the 2015 NAIAS. The latest addition to the luxury brand’s performance range will expand the automaker’s lineup and it will undoubtedly be one of the most attractive choices because of its performance. The Lexus RC F coupe, which was launched earlier this year, is powered by a V8 engine.
The forthcoming Lexus GS F will probably have the same engine. That’s a 5.0-liter V8 mill which is able to deliver 467 horsepower and 389 lb-ft of torque to the wheels of the coupe. However, the version which will be nested beneath the hood of the new Lexus GS F might come with even higher power output. After all, the GS F is a performance sedan whose body is expected to weigh more than the RC F’s.
If we analyze the photos, we can identify the LED accent light in an L-shape, placed under the headlight. The distinctive premium brand’s detail will probably enter the GS lineup this way, following the automaker’s design language implemented at some other models. We can also see an attractive wheel design, a powerful brake and a mash air intake which was already used for the Lexus RC F coupe.
Another photo shows the headlight and a part of the Lexus’ recognizable mash grille. There’s also a carbon fiber detail which expresses the performance and “track-ready” spirit of the new F model.
Lexus stated that the new model – which hasn’t been confirmed to be the new Lexus GS F – is going to be introduced at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show on January 13th. The premiere is scheduled for 8:40 AM EST.
