Ford SYNC 3 Coming This Summer on 2016 Escape and Fiesta

The latest Ford SYNC 3 connectivity, infotainment and communications system is going to be introduced to the American market this summer. They’re going to install the all-new SYNC 3 system in the 2016 Ford Escape and the 2016 Ford Fiesta.

Those two will be honored to be the first Blue Oval vehicles with the SYNC 3. We already wrote about the new system. It’s clear that the automaker’s intention wasn’t just to make everybody safer thanks to the easier use of the new system, but also to offer a completely new user experience and improved features in every aspect.

In order to do so, they had to use all-new hardware and software, so the Ford SYNC 3 is faster, more reliable and way better than its predecessor.

“SYNC always has been about providing a safer way for our customers to connect their smartphones in order to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel,” said Mark LaNeve, Ford Motor Company vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “Customers continue to tell us they want this technology, and they want it to be fast and easy to use – like a smartphone. SYNC 3 delivers on that request.”

Nowadays, one of the biggest safety concerns is frequent use of smartphones while driving. The Ford SYNC 3 comes with simpler command structure, according to the automaker. In other words, you don’t need as much attention as before in order to play music or make a call.

The SYNC 3 has AppLink that connects the vehicle with a smartphone and lets the customer use all the compatible apps already installed on the smartphone. Aside from automatically detecting the apps – such as Pandora, Spotify, NPR One, Glympse and iHeart Auto – the Ford SYNC 3 integrates perfectly iPhone’s Siri features. Thanks to the Siri Eyes Free technology, driver can hold down Push-to-Talk steering wheel button and Siri would be ready to start a session without taking eyes off the road or hands off the wheel.

Since the automaker used brand new capacitive touchscreen, browsing through the Ford SYNC 3 menu will have the same experience as using a smartphone. Clear menu design and simple navigation through the menu is what makes the SYNC 3 so advanced.
