Audi A7 Redesign Will Bring Revolutionary Changes

How the next-gen Audi A7 is going to look? Well, we recently wrote about the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Prologue concept is an epitome of the new Audi style which will be employed for at least three new models. The Audi A7 redesign will be a part of a huge makeover which will bring new generations of the A6 and the A8, too.

New Design Language Will Substantially Change Audi A7

Marc Lichte, head of Audi design and the author of the new appealing design language, has actually created two luxury sedans – A6 and A8 – as well as the A7 five-door liftback before sculpting the Prologue concept. His intention was to make bigger, noticeable difference between the upscale cars in the Audi sedan family. Of course, they have to feature some basic characteristics, since they share the same DNA. The Audi Prologue concept was just an example of the new design language. We haven’t learned yet how much of each of the forthcoming models was in the concept, but we know that we can expect its numerous styling cues.

How Radical Redesign Will Be?

According to the Autocar report, the new Audi A7 will have a radical redesign which will depart from the current exterior. Reportedly, the new Audi A7 will have the most thoroughgoing redesign. It will be underpinned by the new MLB Evo platform and it’s going to borrow some engines from the 2016 Audi A8.

Audi A7 Release

The redesigned Audi A7 should be released sometime during 2017. We can’t say with certainty whether it would be early 2017 or not, but we know that the 2018 Audi A6 will have to wait until the next-gen Audi A7 and Audi A8 are released. The new five-door hatchback could be unveiled late 2016, but let’s wait and see.
