4 Reasons Why Cadillac Sales Could Go Sky-High
It’s not a secret that Cadillac isn’t the bestselling GM’s brand. Of course, this is how things should be, since Cadillac is a luxury brand which isn’t affordable to everyone and his brother. However, the recent sales aren’t something to write home about, so they have to make some changes to increase the future sales. They have several points within their strategy which should result in significantly better sales in the forthcoming years. Of course, as every other big automaker, they have plans for the future several years as elaborate as the next model year plans. This way, the brand’s development will be substantial and probably very successful. New models, new engines and a lot of efforts invested into the uplifting of the brand must have a logical outcome in increased sales. New Cadillac boss, Mr. Johan de Nysschen, a proven expert, certainly has skills to make the Cadillac brand one of the most desirable in the world. These are the reasons why Cadillac will probably improve its sales.
1. New Models Will Significantly Enhance Cadillac Lineup
Although the current models are really attractive, the Cadillac range isn’t very broad. The new strategy will bring some new models which should cover the market segments which were neglected until now. The new crossovers which will join the SRX and the Escalade are probably going to be very popular. There will be a seven-seater right below the Escalade and a compact crossover below the SRX which will compete against the BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class. They will also expand their sedan lineup which will be enriched by the 2016 Cadillac CT6 flagship sedan soon. However, the new sedan won’t be the brand’s flagship for a long time. A year or two after the launch of the CT6, they are going to introduce two new halo models above this sedan.
2. New Engines – Diesel Technology Means Market Expansion
The automaker has plans to make the Cadillac brand popular in Europe. They will need diesel engine’s help in order to accomplish this. Everything’s still indeterminate, so we don’t have any particular details about the new diesel powertrain and its development. However, it’s certain that it won’t be used in the next couple of years. We have to wait more in order to see a diesel-powered Cadillac. Since they will offer new diesel mills with the future Euro-spec models, there’s no doubt the North American market will get, at least, one diesel engine option per model.
3. New Performance V-Series Models
They’ve shown at the SUV probably won’t be the only one, but it seems that it’s going to be the first one to get the Cadillac’s V badging.
4. Increasing Chinese Market Sales
Reportedly, in the next five years, they are going to offer nine completely new models in China. This kind of expansion strategy might result in significantly increased sales in China. The Chinese market might improve the brand’s liquidity, so they might even speed up new models’ research and development.
