2018 Nissan IDx Production Model to Arrive in 2017
The Nissan’s intention with the 2018 IDx is to attract those buyers who aren’t satisfied by the affordable rear-wheel drive coupes currently on the market. Introduced as a concept, the IDx met a really worm welcome of the automotive public, so the manufacturer decided to make yet another step and create a production version. Astonishing and striking appearance will certainly be remembered, but since the coupe’s heritage started at a race track, the powertrain and performance are also important. Designed as a tribute to the famous Datsun 510, the new 2018 Nissan IDx interprets the traditional style in a contemporary way. The creative design approach resulted in a not so common appearance. The 2018 Nissan IDx can be everything, but it can never be ordinary. Having a unique design isn’t always a good thing. There are a lot of cars which are just one step too far beyond the conventional, resulting in not-so-brilliant sales. The 2018 IDx has an unusual exterior design, but it seems that they’ve found just a perfect balance between a good-looking classic car and an avant-garde design escapade.
Since the target demographic is younger audience, the appearance 2018 Nissan IDx oozes dynamism. This car is a compact coupe – it’s approximately 160 inches long, 67 inches wide and 51 inches high. Possible Engine Options and Transmission
The coupe will likely have two engine options depending on the version. The 2018 Nissan IDx Freeflow will probably have a naturally aspirated gasoline engine whose displacement will be somewhere in the range between 1.2 and 1.5 liters. This mill will be paired with a CVT. On the other hand, the 2018 Nissan IDx NISMO will be powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter direct-injected engine. Since the IDx NISMO is a performance version, its CVT will be equipped with a six-speed manual shift mode.
2018 Nissan IDx Price and Release
The estimations are that the 2018 Nissan IDx will be released sometime during 2017 as a 2018 model. As for the price, since it’s going to target younger audience and that the automaker’s plan was to offer something completely new in the affordable compact coupe market segment, the base price of the 2018 IDx shouldn’t be higher than $20,000.
