2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Engine Options — Gas And Diesel Inline-six, V8 & Plug-in Hybrid Powertrain
As for the powertrain, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will have a wide palette of engines offered. Probably, there will be several inline-six engines. A 3.0-liter inline-six is expected to be the most popular. At this point, we don’t know the exact engine lineup and power outputs of particular mills, but the announced inline-six engines are expected to have between 200 and 400 horsepower. Some reports said that the most impressive engine available is a 4.0-liter V8, which is able to generate 600 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. There will be some diesel engine options, too. We know that a 2.9-liter inline-six diesel engine will almost certainly find its way under the hood of the 2017 E-Class. The aforementioned plug-in hybrid powertrain isn’t revealed yet. We don’t know its specs at this point. Although there were numerous speculations about this powertrain, it’s impossible to say with certainty how powerful this powertrain will be, but what’s sure is that there will be the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class plug-in hybrid offered. It’s known that electric motors which will be paired with internal combustion engines in hybrid setups will come with power output from 40 to 110 horsepower. The transmission currently used for the CLS-Class will be installed in the 2017 E-Class. Also, some other gearboxes are expected, but this one is the most prominent.
2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Release And Estimated Price
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is expected to be released during 2016. More precisely, it should hit the showrooms during fall 2016 as a 2017 model, but it’s impossible to say with certainty because of the big time gap, so certain deviations wouldn’t be surprising. As for the price, the 2017 E-Class will probably be slightly higher than the current model’s price.
