All-New 2017 LaCrosse: Redesigned from the Bottom Up
The 2017 Buick LaCrosse is going to be one of the most attractive novelties at the upcoming 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. The luxury sedan is coming completely redesigned: built on a new platform, the body of the next-gen LaCrosse has an aura of a beautiful and powerful luxury full-size car.
Although General Motors keeps the details confidential until the premiere this November, they released a teaser photo which shows how a central part of the front fascia of the new LaCrosse looks. If it looks familiar, that’s because the grille has been introduced with the Buick Avenir concept earlier this year.
The new exterior design signifies a new era of the Buick brand. This is an evolution of the tri-shield American classic and that’s what the new front fascia is going to pronounce loud and clear. They used the 1954 Wildcat II concept as inspiration for the new front fascia.
New Design & Old Legends
Three-color tri-shield badge dominates the darkened waterfall grille where a wing-shaped detail makes a perfect balance connecting the headlights. This way, the 2017 LaCrosse won’t just be a brand new executive sedan loaded with technology and high-quality leather; the new LaCrosse is envisioned to be a noble heir of the Buick’s rich history and its specific worldview.
“The Avenir concept shattered expectations of what a Buick could be and the 2017 LaCrosse promises to do the same,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. “Its expressive design represents a break from convention and highlights the progressiveness in all new Buick models.”
2017 LaCrosse Got New Platform
The 2017 Buick LaCrosse has a completely new platform, as we already mentioned. The E2XX platform has been developed to provide better driving characteristics and to keep the vehicle’s weight as low as possible. Thanks to the new underpinning, the next-gen LaCrosse has a stronger base and more dynamic behavior on the road. Also, the car’s driving has been improved by using a five-link rear suspension.
As for the other changes in comparison with the previous generation, the 2017 LaCrosse is expected to come with drastically improved safety, tons of new technology and high-end luxury. We’re going to find out more about the full-size sedan after its debut at the 2015 LA Auto Show.
