2017 Ford GT Is Simply Amazing Supercar

At the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, Ford has introduced the 2017 Ford GT supercar. The very first production models of this car will be on the assembly lines in 2016. This isn’t really a surprise, since there were already some hints that the Blue Oval might introduce a supercar like this. The 2017 Ford GT will be one of the already announced 12 models which will belong to the Ford Performance range, a new lineup of Ford’s sports cars.

Imagined as a tribute to the GT race cars which delivered a magnificent victory at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race, the supercar inherits the classic Ford GT design language, but there’s no doubt the new model uses the predecessors’ style just as a homage to their accomplishments. Crafted as a modern and powerful two-door high-performance halo coupe, the new 2017 GT has the most powerful EcoBoost engine the automaker has ever made.

The 2017 Ford GT is a thoroughbred racer. They installed a twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine inside lightweight and aerodynamic bodywork whose mid-engine layout and rear-wheel drive significantly contribute to the car’s performance. The V6 EcoBoost delivers more than 600 horsepower. It is mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle.

At the moment we have no performance specs, but we can assume that the new GT will be among the most prominent high-performance production cars of the world.

Bodywork, Style and Aerodynamics

This might not be so astonishing if we keep in mind how much power some other supercars have, but the GT’s body has been made of carbon fiber, aluminum and other lightweight materials which is a pretty convincing indication that the car’s specs will be amazing. The revived GT comes with a deployable rear spoiler and lightweight composites which keep the weight figures low.

Since the exterior of the 2017 Ford GT has been developed in order to reduce aerodynamic drag and to optimize downforce, the appearance is really stunning. All the gentle curves have been made with purpose and that’s what gives the GT’s beauty another perspective. The performance coupe sits atop of 20-inch wheels which wear Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires, specifically designed for the Ford GT.

We weren’t expecting incredible luxury inside the cabin of the 2017 GT, but they surprised us with the car’s interior. Although they will do anything to reduce the car’s weight, since performance is the main goal when you’re developing a supercar, clever use of carbon fiber, the latest technology — such as the SYNC 3 system – and a steering wheel inspired by F1 is going make your time spent inside the GT very pleasant when you’re not restraining your adrenaline rush.
