2016 VW Jetta GLI Features
Several days ago Volkswagen unveiled the 2016 VW Jetta GLI, a sporty variant of the well-known sedan. The automaker said that since the Jetta GLI has been envisaged as a sedan equivalent of the Golf GTI, it got a turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder engine that delivers 210 horsepower and “specially tuned sport suspension”.
But in comparison with a regular Jetta, the GLI version looks different, too. Its front fascia has some distinctive details that contribute to the car’s aggressive appearance. The Wolfsburg-based automaker has always been very clever when it comes to sports editions of its popular cars. With just a few stylish details, they can make an ordinary car look like a true street-legal racer.
2016 VW Jetta GLI Athletic Appearance
The 2016 VW Jetta GLI confirms this theory. Although the body hasn’t been changed, the car is drastically better looking thanks to the front fascia in the first place. The aggressive style starts at the front end of the sedan with a honeycomb grille and attractive foglights. The rear end has also been treated with handsome details, so it got a restyled rear bumper with a diffuser and chrome exhaust tips. The 2016 Jetta GLI has standard 18-inch Mallory design aluminum-alloy wheels.
Interior and Technology
Inside the sedan they installed the new MIB II infotainment system that comes with great connectivity. The 2016 VW Jetta GLI SE comes with keyless access with push-button start, Fender Premium Audio System, heated seats, auto headlights, rain sensor wipers, LED taillights, a rearview camera and both front and rear Park Distance Control, a sunroof and a Climatronic automatic dual-zone climate control.
2016 VW Jetta GLI SEL Equipment
On the other hand, the 2016 Jetta GLI SEL is equipped with even more attractive features. It has Bi-Xenon headlights with the Adaptive Front-lighting System that adjusts the direction of the beams in depending on the angle of the steering wheel, blind spot detection with rear traffic alert, a navigation system and the Homelink system.
Automatic Post-Collision Braking System
Every model of the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta GLI has Automatic Post-Collision Braking system as standard. This useful feature prevents additional collisions after the first collision in the accident. When the system detects the initial collision via the airbag sensors, it applies the brakes and helps keeping the car away from other obstacles.
