2016 Toyota Avalon Updates: Suspension, Technology & Style

The 2016 Toyota Avalon comes as a mid-cycle update of the full-size sedan. Although the changes aren’t as radical as they would be if the new Avalon were redesigned, the actual improvements of the latest update are pretty satisfactory.

From the exterior to the suspension, this car brings some fundamental changes, so it’s going to bridge the gap until the next-gen Avalon. So, what are those changes?

Updated Exterior Design

The exterior of the 2016 Toyota Avalon isn’t drastically different, but it’s fresh and new. The most noticeably change from the outside is the new grille. Since the lower grille is wider and the upper grille is narrower, this contributes to the more powerful appearance. The new turn signals replaced fog lights. The 2016 Avalon also got some chrome for the rear bumper and altered LED taillights.

2016 Avalon Update

2016 Toyota Avalon Trims Updates

The performance 2016 Avalon Touring will be very distinctive. It comes with a standard aggressive front fascia, a set of 18-inch alloys painted in dark gray tone. It also has unique LED headlights with LED daytime running lights.

The 2016 Toyota Avalon Limited comes with 18-inch alloy Super Chrome wheels on V6 versions and 17-inch alloy Super Chrome wheels on hybrid models. Since the Limited trim sits atop of the Avalon range (XLE, XLE Plus, XLE Premium, Limited and Touring for gasoline models; XLE Plus, XLE Premium and Limited for hybrid models) it has optional safety features such as: pre-collision system, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert and high beam headlights.

The XLE and XLE Plus trims also got some updates. They’re rolling on 17-inch alloys and they have a tire-specific Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). There’s also a 7-inch Entune Audio Plus screen and woodgrain dash trim.

New Suspension – Choose Between Improved Comfort and Rapid Heart Rate

The sedan got a new suspension. In comparison with the current model’s suspension, the new system will improve the Avalon’s comfort. In fact, they’ve developed two different suspensions. While the standard one is focused on smooth ride comes with a range of trims – from XLE to Limited – the performance suspension will be available with the Touring trim. It will bring more agility, precision, responsiveness and dynamics to the 2016 Toyota Avalon Touring.

Entune Premium Audio and Qi Wireless Charging

Having in mind that the 2016 Avalon has a lot of serious rivals, it had to come with updated technology, too. The XLE Premium grade has Entune Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite as well as the Qi Wireless Charging. Although this isn’t something that can be the decisive reason why the most of the Avalon buyers would go with this sedan instead of any other competitor, high-end technology is very important nowadays.
