2016 Mitsubishi EVO XI Redesign — Better Than Ever!

The 2016 Mitsubishi EVO XI is expected to come next year in the U.S. The very first units will be produced in July this year. The manufacturer kept everything about the 2016 Mitsubishi EVO strictly confidential. That’s why no one knows something more specific about this new generation. They seem to be very confident about this one, hoping it could be a milestone in eleven generations long history. The 2016 EVO is a vehicle which has great specs and incredible performance. They developed a special architecture for the EVO XI. It won’t be based on the Renault platform, which underpins the Lancer. This means the Lancer and the EVO will diverge from this point on. This point is celebrated by the redesign. The 2016 Mitsubishi EVO exterior will be improved, distinctive and more aggressive than before. It will come next year as a 2016 model, so the current tenth generation of the EVO will be distributed one more year.

The 2016 Mitsubishi EVO XI is a car which has great performance, but it has to look good too. That’s why they worked hard on its appearance. The exterior will have some of the basic design elements found on the Mitsubishi Concept-RA. Of course, there are certain tweaks, but the overall feel and design language used for the new EVO’s body, have their foundation in the RA concept. With new platform, this car will stand out and possibly outshine the Lancer. Some modest announcements of the Mitsubishi officials revealed that the 2016 EVO will have improved handling and advanced technology installed. Since they are mysterious, we have to be patient to find out what they meant, but we don’t doubt they will make it impressive. They also said that the 2016 Mitsubishi EVO XI is a generation which will make a revolution in its long family history.

The 2016 Mitsubishi EVO hybrid is announced as “state of the art”. What they meant when they said this? Well, they explained there will be a smaller engine as well as a smaller electric motor, while new batteries will be lighter and better. We suspect the batteries will be lithium-ion, made by LEJ (Lithium Energy Japan). All those changes shouldn’t compromise performance, so we expect the 2016 Mitsubishi EVO hybrid to have surprisingly superior fuel economy and the same, if not better, performance. According to some sources which couldn’t be called the most reliable, which doesn’t mean they don’t know what they’re talking about, the 2016 EVO hybrid will have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine alongside with two electric motors. They say this hybrid powertrain will have power output of around 500 horsepower. It is expected that the improved S-AWC system helps about performance and handling. This acronym stands for the Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control System, which is essentially an all-wheel drive system.

The 2014 Lancer Evolution price is around $36,000. Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised if the 2016 Mitsubishi EVO XI price goes higher. However, some estimations claim it won’t cost more than $50,000. If the new EVO provides really better performance and if it really has impressive specs, like they want us to anticipate, the price in the range between $40,000 and $50,000 would be completely fair.
