2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class SUV Features

Based on the Concept Coupe, which was introduced at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, the new 2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class comes to compete against BMW and Audi SUVs. Although speculations about the 2016 MLC-Class started a long time ago, there are no reliable news about its powetrain and other significant features. Some rumors about it say that the MLC-Class will share its engine lineup with the M-Class and that there might be a hybrid powertrain option, too.  As for the appearance, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class will resemble the Concept Coupe SUV, but it will have its own distinctive design, which will introduce some novelties improving the appearance. It’s hard to say, but it seems that there won’t be a significant difference between these two. The interior of this luxury SUV will follow the general design approach of the other Mercedes-Benz SUVs, so we shouldn’t hope for something completely different.

2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class Exterior And Interior Design

The appearance of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class is influenced not just by the Concept Coupe. Since this SUV should compete against the BMW X6, the automotive public couldn’t disregard the resemblance between these two. With distinctive roofline and overall body shape, the 2016 MLC-Class declared war to the X6. Of course, the recognizable front fascia with wide grille and air intake as well as a large Mercedes-Benz star at the center, won’t leave any doubt about the brand, style and heritage this SUV is proud of. The exterior of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class has something new and exciting. Made to be an urban SUV, without obvious off-road aspirations, the MLC will bring slightly different style. Thanks to its angled hood and roofline, this SUV looks beautiful, although it diverged from the design of the M-Class. This SUV comes with pretty long wheelbase compared with the overall length, big wheels and tall ground clearance, so it looks dynamic and powerful. The design of the interior, like we already said, isn’t expected to be something to write home about. However, the overall fresh appearance of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class may bring some refreshments regarding the interior design and overall cabin feel.

2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class Engine Options — V-6, V-8 & Hybrid

The powertrains of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class will probably be borrowed from the M-Class. This means that this SUV will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel as well as a gas 3.5-liter V-6 engine. Of course, there will be a popular 4.6-liter V-8 twin-turbo engine, as well as a 5.5-liter V-8 twin-turbo, which is used for the AMG version. There are some rumors regarding the 2016 Mercedes-Benz MLC-Class hybrid. According to some unofficial sources, the MLC-Class hybrid should be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and the same electric motor and batteries used for the Mercedes-Benz E400 Hybrid.
