2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake — Would You Like It in USA?
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is a really interesting car. First of all, it won’t be available in the USA, so it may cause the forbidden fruit effect. On the other hand, a shooting brake car with the Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star at the grille isn’t a usual sight. They’ve made just one shooting brake model before. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake will be available in two versions: the regular 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake and the upscale 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake. Since it’s going to be available in Europe, the first specimens will be introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Shortly after the official debut, the 2016 CLA Shooting Brake will be distributed. Although this car won’t be available in the USA, it might be an innuendo of what can come across the pond in the near future. We hope that the German manufacturer’s expansion will motivate them not to keep the shooting brake on the European soil only. Perhaps they won’t distribute the same car in the U.S., but we can expect something similar if they decide to offer it overseas.
Exterior Style of New Shooting Brake
Since the 2016 CLA Shooting Brake was derived from the Mercedes-Benz CLA, it has the overall exterior design inherited from the ancestor. However, the new body type provides more space and a different exterior design. Although the shooting brake body type seems a bit strange with the Mercedes-Benz design language, they’ve sculpted a really beautiful car which can compete with every shooting brake and wagon on the market nowadays.
2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake Engine Options
As for the drivetrain, the car will come with various options. While the base CLA180 version will be powered by a four-cylinder which delivers 122 horsepower, there will also be a CLA250 model which is rated at 211 horsepower. Of course, there will be an amazing turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine installed under the hood of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG. This engine generates whooping 355 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. It sends its power to the all wheels via a 4Matic all-wheel drive. The CLA45 AMG version has 4Matic AWD standard, while the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 Shooting Brake has standard front-wheel drive, as well as the CLA180, but the 4Matic all-wheel drive is available as an option.
