2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet — Splendid Convertible

Since the new C-Class release is scheduled for the first months of 2015, the 2016 C-Class Cabriolet will hit the market a little bit later. The new convertible, based on the C-Class, will be a significant addition to the lineup. This convertible won’t be drastically different from its siblings. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet is a convertible whose style and performance are great. After all, that’s what’s expected of a Mercedes-Benz car. However, every convertible is specific. Sometimes a convertible spinoff of a very popular car may not be received extremely well. The 2016 C-Class Cabriolet will be adored. It took everything it needed from the C-Class sedan and somehow managed to look even better. The manufacturer won’t allow any details to leak before it’s time for the introduction, but we managed to find out some characteristics. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet may be just a convertible version of the ordinary C-Class, but it has some kind of magnetic charisma.

Platform And Bodywork

Built on the same platform used for both the coupe and the sedan, the 2016 C-Class Cabriolet will probably come with rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive could be available as an option. The bodywork, whose design language may not diverge from the current general style of the C-Class family, will resemble the C-Class sedan. Of course, the particular version has to be improved with some unique details. Having a drop-top wasn’t unique enough for the C-Class convertible, so its body got an extravagant wider and lower style. Perhaps this is the crucial feature that will draw the line between owning an ordinary C-Class and declaring war on boring life, while hurrying for a party at the seashore. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet borrowed the soft top from the E-Class convertible. Compared with a hard top, this solution has its downsides, but its help couldn’t be overlooked when it comes to performance and fuel economy.

2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet Engines & Transmission

This car’s performance has to be good enough to be entertaining for the driver and the passengers. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet will have a very decent engine lineup. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder which generates 235 horsepower and 274 lb-ft of torque. Aside from this powerplant, there’s a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine which delivers 329 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful engine which will be installed in the Cabriolet will be a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. Of course, this will be a powerplant reserved for the AMG version. There are some rumors about a 2.1-liter diesel engine, but this mill probably won’t be available in the U.S. As for the transmission, the 2016 C-Class Cabriolet will be equipped with a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet Release And Estimated Price

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet will be released after the release of the coupe and the sedan. This car could be introduced by the mid-summer next year, but it’s questionable could it be released by the end of 2015. Perhaps it will be released early 2016, a year after the initial release of the C-Class. As for the price, this car belongs to the new C-Class whose pricing is slightly increased. This will probably affect the base price of the convertible version, so some estimates are that the starting price of the 2016 C-Class Cabriolet will be around $45,000.
