2016 Lincoln MKX Changes And Improvements

The 2016 Lincoln MKX was unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show this year. This luxury mid-size SUV will offer a lot of high-quality equpment, impressive comfort and obviously, a brilliant exterior. It will improve the overall feel of its predecessors, although the current MKX crossover is known for its comfort and luxury. With contemporary design language and advanced technology under its skin, the 2016 Lincoln MKX will probably be one of the most impressive luxury crossovers when it comes out. It will be released during the next year as a 2016 model. As you can see, it won’t be dramatically redesigned, but all of the changes which adorn the 2016 MKX will contribute to the fresh appearance. There are some new elements integrated in the modern design language. The powertrain of this crossover is still unknown. After all, they just introduced the concept, so they didn’t announced any of the future engine options. However, some speculations are that this luxury mid-size SUV will have very similar engine options as its close cousin the 2015 Ford Edge.

2016 Lincoln MKX Redesigned Exterior

The appearance of the 2016 Lincoln MKX is based on the recent design of its predecessors. While they kept the basic design line, they made an outstanding accomplishment with all of the exterior changes. The front fascia is changed, so there’s a new split-wing grille, which seems to suits this model better than the current one. With horizontally oriented slats and better integration with a new pair of LED headlights, the face of the 2016 Lincoln MKX looks more attractive and dynamic than before. Of course, the augmented air intakes and fog lights made it look more powerful and aggressive. What’s especially impressive is the way how the daytime running LED lights look. This crossover has some additional curves on the body so it doesn’t look drastically changed, but those significantly improved its appearance. Carefully sculpted, the 2016 MKX oozes the luxury and superb automotive craftsmanship. This crossover has a lot of different styling cues borrowed from its siblings which come as 2016 models, too. One of the most attractive features is the sunroof, which brings the airy feel to the interior. In order to prove that it belongs to the luxury stratum, the 2016 Lincoln MKX comes on beautiful 21-inch wheels. It’s important to point out that this luxury SUV won’t be that beautiful if it didn’t kept its short rear overhang, since that’s one of the design tricks which make a vehicle like the new MKX look powerful and stylish at the same time.

Expected Engine Options Of 2016 Lincoln MKX

Since the 2016 Lincoln MKX shares almost the same DNA with the Ford Edge, some people expect that it to come with similar if not exactly the same engine options. Of course, they haven’t said anything about the engines, but we shouldn’t be surprised if the new MKX comes with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost which delivers 275 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. This EcoBoost might become the entry engine option. There are rumors which say that the 2016 Lincoln MKX could get a 3.7-liter V-6 engine, the same as the one installed under the hood of the 2015 Ford Mustang. Also, there is a possibility that they go for a turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6, which powers the new Ford F-150.

2016 Lincoln MKX Release Date

They decided to introduce the 2016 Lincoln MKX in Beijing because their plan is to start distributing this brilliant luxury crossover on the expanding Chinese market. Of course, they won’t neglect the U.S. market, so we can expect it to be released in the U.S. first. Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact release date, but it’s sure that the 2016 Lincoln MKX will be available during 2015.
