2016 Jaguar XF Redesign: Next-Generation Changes
The next generation of the Jaguar XF sedan will, reportedly, be unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show. According to the Autocar report, the 2016 Jaguar XF will be based on the design language of the latest Jag XE. Using the brand’s new style, the luxury sedan might be a very attractive choice on the market which traditionally favors German cars. Since the expectations are that the 2016 XF inherits the general style of its smaller sibling, it’s questionable how they’re going to differentiate the full-size sedan from its smaller stablemate.
Underpinned by the well-known scalable iQ[Al] platform, which is made of lightweight materials, the new XF promises less weight and better performance. As for the technology, which will be one of the cornerstones of the 2016 Jaguar XF and all the future Jaguar models, the automaker is devoted to the development of the advanced infotainment system.
2016 Jaguar XF Exterior Redesign – Using Brand’s Design Language
The 2016 Jaguar XF will be larger than the current model. The next generation’s increase in size doesn’t necessarily mean that the sedan will be heavier. Thanks to the aforementioned iQ[Al] platform, the new XF might, actually, be lighter than before.
While the scalable architecture provides good underpinning and improved performance to various models of the range, the automaker’s decision to use the uniform brand’s design language might be a bit contentious. Their argument is conceivable. In order to make an expansion, they have to come with one distinctive style which can be recognized anywhere in the world.
If they do this, they will lose the opportunity to craft every single model from scratch using the Jag’s rich heritage.
The 2016 Jaguar XF will look like the XE. According to the rumors, the XF will have the same roofline, the same body shape, and even the front fascia, where they’re going to nest the good-looking XE’s grille, won’t be much different.
Fortunately, the design language which will be used is simply amazing and that’s what the 2016 XF can use in its favor.
New Interior Style
As for the interior, the XE will selflessly share its blueprint. Of course, the XF will be bigger, thus providing more space inside the cabin. But the general feel and the interior design won’t significantly differ from the Jag XE’s.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The latest technology is what’s expected of a luxury sedan. Equipped with a great infotainment system which has numerous useful features and impressive connectivity, the 2016 Jaguar XF won’t fall behind the competitors. As a matter of fact, this aspect can be one of those where Jag has the advantage.
2016 Jaguar XF Premiere, Release Date and Price Expectations
After the premiere at the 2015 New York Auto Show, the 2016 Jaguar XF will wait for the fall 2015 when it’s going to be released. The price is currently unknown, but having in mind that the new generation comes with a redesigned exterior, new interior and advanced technology, even a modest price increase in comparison with the current model would be justified.
