2016 Infiniti QX30 Compact Crossover — Modern And Sleek
The 2016 Infiniti QX30 is a compact crossover which is expected to be a very interesting option once it hits the market. We have already seen the concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. The production version of the 2016 Infiniti QX30 probably won’t be exactly the same, but the main characteristics of the concept’s design will be present. It’s important to say that the 2016 QX30 will be very familiar to those who already saw the Q30 hatchback. Those two have a lot in common, but the QX30 is a crossover version which looks more potent and powerful. As for the powertrain, the 2016 Infiniti QX30 will have both a gasoline and a diesel option, but the U.S.-spec version won’t come with a diesel powerplant under the hood. It’s interesting that, since it’s a crossover, the 2016 QX30 is coming with standard all-wheel drive. Of course, its owners probably won’t spend much time in off-road adventures, but the crossover’s all-wheel drive is also helpful on the road where its performance will be better.
Bodywork And Design Language
The exterior will be heavily based on the concept and the Q30 hatchback. The crossover will have some common design solutions, but it won’t lose its uniqueness. The 2016 Infiniti QX30 will definitely be one of the most attractive compact crossovers when it hits the market. Its intriguing and smooth design language is very modern and appealing, but the crossover won’t be just a handsome compact SUV. Based on the MFA platform developed for the automaker’s compact cars, the 2016 Infiniti QX30 shares the basic architecture with the Q30 hatchback. Thanks to the MFA platform, the crossover will have great performance, but that’s not everything that’s expected from a luxury compact crossover. The 2016 Infiniti QX30 will come with a luxurious interior and a lot of gadgets. Of course, there’s no doubt that they’re going to install the latest technology. Reportedly, the interior will have a lot of leather, wood and possibly some metal details.
2016 Infiniti QX30 Powertrain: Engine Options, Transmission And Drive
While the Euro-spec version will have a turbocharged 1.5-liter dCi diesel engine available, the American model will have gasoline engines only. It’s expected that the 2016 Infiniti QX30 comes with two gasoline engine options. Perhaps they decide to go with more than just two, but at this point, there are two engines which are constantly mentioned in rumors and speculations. That’s a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder which delivers 266 horsepower and a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 215 horsepower. The 2016 Infiniti QX30 will, as we already said, have standard all-wheel drive, but the performance and smooth ride will be enhanced by a Xtronic CVT.
2016 Infiniti QX30 Price
Since the automaker hasn’t released the crossover’s pricing, it’s impossible to know with certainty the QX30’s starting price. However, the estimates are that the base model of the 2016 Infiniti QX30 will cost around $30,000.
