2016 GMC Terrain Changes & Features
Although the redesign of the GMC Terrain was announced for the 2016 model year, the new generation of the Terrain will probably be released early 2017 as a 2018 model. The manufacturer, therefore, decided to refresh the 2016 GMC Terrain in order to make it more attractive until the redesigned version comes on the market. Reportedly, the 2016 Terrain will be just slightly changed. It will have just some mild improvements. Some sources claim that there will be some changes of the interior. What’s certain is that the 2016 model year will bring some fresh body colors, which won’t be an expansion of the current exterior color palette. Instead, those new colors will replace the existing ones. Without chrome wheel and tire package, but with a new Sun, Entertainment and Destinations package and some other technology improvements, the 2016 Terrain will actually be pretty decent, but the fact that they cancelled the blind spot mirror can possibly be an issue for some customers.
2016 GMC Terrain RPO and LPO Features
Since the 2016 model year the GMC Terrain won’t be painted in Atlantis Blue Metallic and Ashen Gray Metallic anymore. Those two body colors will be replaced by the Cypress Green Metallic and Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic.
The manufacturer decided not to install the blind spot mirror, which probably won’t find a warm reception.
In order to make the 2016 Terrain more attractive, the automaker offered various new features. There’s the Sun, Entertainment & Destinations package and the OnStar 4G LTE system with a plan for five years.
There are also some LPO changes, which could improve the 2016 GMC Terrain further. The new black roof rack cross bars and new slash guards aren’t just useful features for the CUV, but also a very contributing details to the exterior appearance.
What Will Upcoming GMC Terrain Redesign Bring?
The redesign prepared for the 2018 GMC Terrain will bring a compact D2XX platform, which will decrease the size of the new-generation Terrain, but it will also decrease the weight of the compact SUV. Also, according to some rumors, the redesigned Terrain will probably have a hybrid powertrain option. Of course, we have to wait for official news about this topic.
2016 GMC Terrain Release
The 2016 GMC Terrain will be released by the middle of 2015 as a 2016 model. Currently, it’s not known whether there will be some price changes, but having in mind that the new model is just a little bit refreshed, there shouldn’t be significant price shifts.
