2016 Ford Focus RS — 2015 NYIAS Debut Announced

The new 2016 Ford Focus RS will be unveiled on April 1st for the first time in the RS history. Although we’ve already seen the pictures and videos, the first specimen that will be before our eyes is going to have something new. Especially for the American debut, the 2016 Focus RS will come painted in Nitrous Blue.

Design and style is tremendously important, but when it comes to performance cars, the most important aspect is hidden beneath the hood. The 2016 Ford Focus RS has a powerful 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine delivering more than 315 horsepower.

“This very special 2.3-liter EcoBoost unit will inspire drivers as they feel the surge of the turbo, and reward them as they take it to redline – all delivered with a stirring sound guaranteed to put a smile on their face,” said Dave Pericak, Ford Performance director.

As one of the 12 promised Ford Performance vehicles, the hot hatch has to provide impressive performance in all of its facets. Insane amount of power isn’t the only thing that matters. Since the automaker is well aware of this, the 2016 Focus RS will be equipped by state-of-the-art systems that improve its behavior on the road.

Powerful and docile, the hatchback is going to provide a unique experience becoming a driver’s toy. Its Ford Performance all-wheel drive with dynamic torque vectoring and electronic stability control provides great grip and traction. This means that the car will probably have insane cornering abilities.
