2016 Chevrolet Volt Partially Revealed at 2015 CES

The 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas brought a pretty surprising debut. The official debut of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt will be at the upcoming 2015 NAIAS, but the CES preview partially revealed the car’s appearance. Aside from the new updated Voltec powertrain, the 2016 Volt got a restyled exterior.

From the 2015 CES photos we learned that the next-gen Volt looks better. Its front fascia – the only aspect that’s been presented – is now aggressive and sporty, since it got an angular style which oozes power and confidence.

As you can see, the fascia looks a bit ahead of its time with those shiny details and sharp angles everywhere. It has a narrow grille, noticeably larger front-bumper air inlet and a pair of distinctive headlights. There are almost vertical LED fog lights which contribute to the overall aggressive feel.

It seems that the 2016 Chevrolet Volt has a stance which is wider than before. They haven’t revealed the entire body of the car, we can’t say how the roofline ends at the rear end. Of course, we don’t have to be patient for long, since the new Volt will be introduced at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.

Completing the Puzzle

Until the premiere, we can sum up what we know so far. The new Voltec system consists of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a battery pack which is smaller than before, but it has slightly more capacity. We hybrid powertrain.

Some rumors claim that the 2016 Chevy Volt will be lighter than before. All of the changes will contribute to the extended driving range. Of course, it’s still secret how many miles will be added to the current driving range, but we’ll find out all about it soon enough.
