2015 VW Touareg Updated And Ready For Release
The 2015 Volkswagen Touareg redesign will be unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show. With mild facelift and some other essential updates, the new Touareg is better looking and more fuel efficient. The 2015 VW Touareg changes list has some significant improvements, such as, better aerodynamics, the new coasting function, improved start/stop system and a post-collision braking system, which became a standard feature. However, that’s not all. The 2015 Touareg will come with additional five body color options as well as improved interior. There are almost no news regarding the engine lineup. All the engines remained the same, but they worked on them in order to offer updated units. The 2015 VW Touareg update may be considered a redesign, but those who expected more (at the first place more bold exterior redesign), say that this is just a refresh. They have to bear in mind that Volkswagen doesn’t change the Touareg radically. They never did it and probably, never will. So, let’s see what they did this time.
2015 VW Touareg Exterior Redesigned
With redesigned front and rear fascia, the 2015 VW Touareg looks facelifted. However, they didn’t make drastic changes, so this facelift may be one where the most of the people notice that something differs, but they can’t name it. There is a new grille with four bars and a large VW badge. Thanks to the fog lights, which are nested in the subtly changed front bumper, as well as the bi-xenon headlights which slightly grew, the 2015 Touareg’s face looks more sleek than before. The rear end has a reshaped diffuser and revised rear bumper. Those who may consider the new Touareg’s redesign dull and insufficient, may think again when they see all-new 18-inch Arica and 20-inch Masafi alloy wheels. The 2015 VW Touareg R is expected to come with 21-inch alloy wheels. Thanks to the aerodynamics improvements, the 2015 Touareg fuel economy is improved. The aforementioned additional body colors in blue, brown, gold and silver hues, will expand the available colors list to twelve.
2015 VW Touareg Interior
As every other luxury SUV, the 2015 VW Touareg comes with superb interior. With leather upholstery, wood and chrome accents, the cabin would be luxurious enough even if they haven’t used better than before, premium materials. The 2015 Touareg’s new interior will have Bonanza Brown Vienna and St. Tropez Vienna leather. It will also have Engineered Ebony and Sapelli Mahagoni wood. As for the safety and assistance, the 2015 VW Touareg features are modern and very useful. There is blind spot warning, rear-view camera, pre- and post-collision safety systems, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and active headlights.
2015 VW Touareg Engines, Transmission & 4MOTION AWD
Like we mentioned before, the 2015 VW Touareg will have the same engine lineup. However, this doesn’t mean that it won’t have improved fuel economy. The new coasting function is an important feature which has a significant impact of fuel economy, as well as improved aerodynamics. The coasting mode enables the engine to disconnect from the transmission. With improved start/stop system, the 2015 VW Touareg fuel economy will be noticeably better. There is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, with 280 horsepower. The hybrid version is powered by a 3.0-liter V-6 and an electric motor, which produce 380 horsepower together. Of course, there is a diesel 3.0-liter V-6 TDI engine, which is able to deliver 239 horsepower. Any engine option is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. As expected, the 2015 Touareg will have a standard 4MOTION all-wheel drive.
