2015 VW Tiguan Redesign — Not Just The Boldest One
The 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan comes redesigned this year. The major redesign it suffered made a brilliant example of what the Volkswagen company aims. According to some rumors we heard, they have a plan to become the world’s leading car manufacturer. The goal they set is possible to accomplish only if they raise their sales in North America. Having that in mind, they created the second generation of the VW Tiguan. This crossover was born seven years ago. Now it’s time the 2015 VW Tiguan changes to be radical in order to win the hearts of drivers across the U.S. and Canada. The 2015 VW Tiguan is based on the MQB platform. This platform is the one used in VW Golf. However, the version which underpins the 2015 VW Tiguan provides more space.
2015 VW TIGUAN REDESIGN IS NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED — CROSS BLUE CONCEPT — EXTENDED WHEELBASE
The appearance of the 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan is not influenced a lot by the Cross Blue concept, which is shown here, on these photos. The manufacturer reserved this concept for the future full-size SUV. That’s why the 2015 Tiguan design language is not as modern and stylish as we expected. The 2015 VW Tiguan redesign made it look like a crossover which will be attractive today. The refreshed front- and rear-end are the most noticeable regions of the completely redesigned Tiguan’s body. The first thing you will see are new headlights which are inherent with redesigned grille. Also, the front bumper contributes to the more elegant look. Instead of expected fabulous rear-end thanks to redesigned taillights and impressive rear bumper, we got an ordinary and a little bit boring VW design. The 2015 VW Tiguan exterior looks attractive in part because of the accented shoulder line, which connects the front and the back of this crossover. With all the improvements, modern light-weight materials and 2700 mm (106 inches) long wheelbase, the 2015 Tiguan will be an intriguing option when considering buying a vehicle from its market segment.
INTERIOR OF THE 2015 VW TIGUAN — MORE SPACE FOR PASSENGERS AND CARGO
As for the interior, the 2015 VW Tiguan gains some more space. There is more legroom and headroom. Considering the profile of the driver which is expected to buy this vehicle, the manufacturer created the 17.7 cu.-ft. cargo space. The 2015 VW Tiguan has five comfortable seats. We don’t know yet anything about the quality of the materials used inside, but it would be reasonable to expect the 2015 Tiguan interior to be made so it can compete with the top crossovers in the market segment. That intention can be seen when in comes to the standard equipment. There is an automatic climate control, touchscreen, navigation, infotainment system etc.
ENGINE OPTIONS — 2015 VW TIGUAN TDI AND TFSI ENGINES — HYBRID — DSG TRANSMISSION
The 2015 VW Tiguan will be powered by various engines. The standard engine option is a 1.2-liter engine. There will be a turbocharged 1.4-liter TFSI gasoline engine which delivers 140 horsepower. Also, there are two 2.0-liter engines. One of them is a TFSI gasoline engine which can generate between 180 and 220 horsepower, and the other one is a TDI engine which can make 177 horsepower. The 2015 VW Tiguan engine options can be enhanced by a 1.6-liter TDI with 140 horsepower. As for the transmission, the 2015 Tiguan will have a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch system. The hybrid version of this compact crossover is expected to have electric motors which can generate 60 kW and 82 kW.
2015 VW TIGUAN PRICE AND RELEASE DATE
The price of the 2015 VW Tiguan will depend on the trim level and equipment package. The Escape trim, which provides better off-road driving performance, is intended for the real enthusiasts. What we found out is the 2015 VW Tiguan price will be around $30,000. The coupe version of this compact crossover will come late this year. As for the extended version, the 2015 Tiguan release date will be early next year.
