2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition: Lavish Yellow Phase
If you’d like a full-flavor Subaru that stands out in every occasion, the new 2015 XV Crosstrek Special Edition might be the right choice. Based on the 2.0i Premium trim, the Special Edition is coming in only 1,000 units.
So, what’s so special about the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition? Well, first of all, its color is something no one could neglect. Painted in Sunrise Yellow, the compact crossover can’t be mistaken for any other vehicle. But there are also some other features that make it stand out.
How Does 2015 XV Crosstrek Special Edition Stand Out?
The 2015 XV Crosstrek Special Edition comes with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, employing all four 17-inch alloy wheels. Those alloys, black cladding and distinctive rocker spoilers contribute to the crossover’s robust appearance. Its ground clearance of 8.7 inches and standard dark-tint glass are what makes the Special Edition’s body so appealing.
Aside from the aforementioned features, the automaker installed a Power Moonroof, Sunrise Yellow side mirrors with integrated turn signals, darkened headlight bezels, Keyless Access with Push-Button Start, Pin Code Access as well as steering wheel and shift lever wrapped in leather.
The All-Weather Package is coming as standard, too. It offers heated front seats and exterior mirrors as well as windshield wiper de-icer.
2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition Engine, Transmission and EPA Fuel Economy
The automaker is especially proud of the crossover’s fuel efficiency. According to the EPA, the 2015 XV Crosstrek Special Edition returns 34 mpg on highway.
Under the hood of the limited edition crossover, they placed a 2.0-liter boxer four-cylinder engine whose cylinder blocks and heads are made of aluminum. The boxer delivers 148 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 145 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. The engine has been mated with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). There’s also a six-speed manual mode for those who’d like to feel the boxer engine more personally using pre-set ratios.
There’s also the Subaru Incline Start Assist feature, a hill-start assist system which comes with the CVT.
Gadgets and Technology
As we already mentioned, the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Special Edition is based on the 2.0i Premium trim. This means that some of the trim’s features were adopted. The Special Edition comes with the famous Subaru Starlink infotainment system and a 7-inch touchscreen that supports multi-touch controls, swiping and even gesture control.
The crossover has SiriusXM Satellite Radio (but subscription is required, of course), iTunes Tagging capability, six-speaker audio system, USB ports and some other useful features.
