2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS Features — New Engine & Other Changes
The 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS, a refreshed version of the SUV nested between the Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo, will be unveiled at the upcoming 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The automaker kept the 2015 Cayenne GTS and the base version of the SUV for the Los Angeles premiere, while all the other versions of the updated range were already introduced at the Paris Auto Show. The changes which will improve the 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS are really elaborate and impressive. Its powertrain is new and improved. Instead of the old V8 engine, the new Cayenne GTS will have a V6 mill with significantly decreased displacement, but the new engine’s power output will be higher. The 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS will, therefore, have better specs, but that’s not all. There will be numerous other features which will noticeably affect the SUVs performance, appearance and comfort.
2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS Engine — Twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 Mill
As we already mentioned, the 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS will have a new engine. The twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 will be more powerful than the current naturally-aspirated 4.8-liter V8 mill. It won’t be drastically better, but its additional 20 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque are pretty useful when the luxury SUV’s tyres start to screech. The new V6 engine installed under the hood of the 2015 Cayenne GTS will deliver 440 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of twist. Thanks to the new engine, the SUV’s top speed is 162 mph. It can accelerate from a standstill to 62 mph in 5.2 seconds.
With the Sport Chrono package, its sprint time is better for a tenth of a second. Since this is a significant improvement, the 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS is probably going to be even more popular in comparison with the current model. There will be a standard eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission. The new Cayenne GTS got some other features which will improve its performance and driving experience. It’s equipped with an updated performance suspension (PASM) which makes the GTS 20 millimeters lower than the base model. Also, the 2015 Cayenne GTS got exactly the same set of brakes as the Cayenne Turbo.
Exterior And Interior Style Changes
The Cayenne Turbo selflessly offered its front fascia, so the 2015 Cayenne GTS has the same front end. It has large air intakes and a powerful appearance thanks to the Turbo’s design. Of course, this won’t be the only change. The exterior of the 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS will be altered by more pronounced wheel arches which will sit atop the 20-inch wheels. With new side skirts, the 2015 Cayenne GTS will complete its more powerful makeover. The interior will have a lot of Alcantara leather and the GTS insignia.
2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS Price
After the premiere, scheduled for the upcoming 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the automaker is going to release the 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS, but the ordering is already open. The price of the 2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS is $96,495 with $995 destination charge included.
