2015 Nissan Maxima Premiere

The renders of the new Nissan sport sedan concept, which we saw in August, caused the speculations about which Nissan model will be inherited. It is clear now that this will be the new 2015 Nissan Maxima. This new Nissan’s good looking ambition will have the premiere at the Detroit Motor Show in January. If everything goes as planned, the 2015 Nissan Maxima release date will be in fall 2014.

The new Maxima will have some pretty noticeable improvements in the body design department. It will be more aggressive, maintaining the common design manner seen at GT-R. Some sources say that the 2015 Nissan Maxima will be 4 inches lower than it’s predecessor. Also, it will grow, so it will be 3 inches longer and 2 inches wider. It doesn’t seem to be a lot, but in the modern auto industry a couple of inches here and there make a big difference. The contemporary trends were followed when it comes to the chassis. Although unofficial, the information we gained say that there will be much more aluminum used for the 2015 Maxima’s body, so it will be lighter and therefore capable of better performances and improved fuel economy.

The news about the new Maxima interior are lacking. This means that either they didn’t changed much, if anything at all, or they made a complete redesign so the 2015 Nissan Maxima interior will be a well kept surprise for the Detroit Motor Show. Truth be told, the more probable option is the first one. It’s a bit disappointing, but on the other hand, it will reflect on the Maxima’s price, which would be lower without the interior redesign.

The 2015 Nissan Maxima engine will be V-6 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC which delivers up to 290 horsepower. That’s the same engine which is installed in the current Maxima model. With proper tweaks, maybe they will be able to make this engine get better performances. That way we wouldn’t have a completely old engine in the new generation of Maxima. There is an information which claims that this engine can and will be improved in a way that it will deliver almost 50 horsepower more. The 2015 Nissan Maxima will have a front-wheel drive. If the improved 3.5-liter engine takes its predecessor’s place, the new Maxima will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 5.5 seconds, which is the result of the current model. Also, with the body redesign and potentially new engine the 2015 Nissan Maxima fuel economy will be better than 21 mpg/city and 29 mpg/open road, which is the current Maxima fuel consumption.

The 2015 Nissan Maxima changes were made to avoid this sport sedan becoming outdated. Without essentially new engine and with body improvements which contribute to the fact that we can say ’new’ for the 2015 Maxima, it is expected that they make a reasonable price. There isn’t any public data about this matter released yet, so we have to estimate. The 2015 Nissan Maxima price will be set at the point slightly above $30,000 for basic trim level. The Nismo option will probably raise the price at $40,000. Like we already said, the 2015 Nissan Maxima will be available in fall 2014.
