2015 MINI Cooper Specs — New Engine & Fresh Style
One of the most interesting premieres of the 2014 New York Auto Show is the debut of the 2015 Mini Cooper. The new Cooper comes with some big improvements. Although the recognizable style isn’t drastically changed, the new 2015 Mini Cooper changes aren’t just minor tweaks. Refreshed appearance, updated interior and a new engine is something what can really make this car outstanding. Thanks to the new platform, this hatchback is a bit larger than before, so it will provide more cargo space. The platform which underpins the 2015 Cooper is the same which will be used as a base for the forthcoming BMW Series 1. Since the wheelbase is one inch longer than before, it’s quite surprising that overall length is 4.5 inches longer and overall width had 2 inches increase.
2015 Mini Cooper Refreshed Exterior
The 2015 Mini Cooper exterior looks more powerful. Since it got a new hood, which is slightly higher and more inclined windshield contribute to the more powerful look. A reshaped front bumper is one of the most important design elements which make the new Cooper’s fascia aggressive and sporty. There are good-looking LED headlights, which gave the final touch to the refreshed front end. Taillights remained unchanged, but it doesn’t mean that the rear end looks outdated. Since the 2015 model doesn’t diverge in style from its predecessors, it wasn’t hard to guess it will be colored in the recognizable fashion.
2015 Mini Cooper Interior Update — More Space And New Style
Like we mentioned before, the 2015 Mini Cooper interior is updated. Since the overall size of this hatchback is increased, there’s more space inside the cabin. The chassis change provided more cargo space, but also increased shoulder room and legroom for passengers. Since the 2015 Cooper gained size, there are skeptics who expect it to be more sluggish than its predecessor. We have to wait for it to be released, so we can judge how exciting it is, but what we can say now, is that those changes provided 8.7 cubic feet of cargo space, which is increase by 3 cubic feet. The most noticeable interior change is the speedometer relocation. Now the central stack has 8.8-inch LCD screen and the speedometer is nested where the tachometer is located. There are new seats which will provide more comfort thanks to thigh bolsters. There’s a head up display available, as well as park assist, start/stop button, climate control and 6-speaker audio system which comes along with speed sensitive volume control and MP3 input.
2015 Mini Cooper Got A New Engine
The 2015 Mini Cooper got a new engine. This is a 2.0-liter inline-four TwinPower Turbo engine, which is expected to have nearly 230 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual, while a 6-speed shiftable automatic is optional. The sport version of the new Cooper, called the Cooper S, will have a 6-speed automatic with steering-wheel shifters, which should provide more aggressive performance. The transmission will send power to the front wheels.
