2015 Infiniti Q70 Changes — Longer Version & Other Novelties

The 2015 Infiniti Q70, which was unveiled at the 2014 New York Auto Show, came with some extraordinary changes. Although the mid-cycle update is usually considered as an opportunity to refresh the existing model, the 2015 Infiniti Q70 came with a surprising novelty. Aside from the styling updates, which were expected, this sedan now has an option with longer wheelbase, whose full name is the 2015 Infiniti Q70L. The exterior improvements are not easy to notice. With subtle changes, which complement the overall appearance, the 2015 Infiniti Q70 is updated, but those details can be spotted at first glance only by someone who is very familiar with the outgoing model’s look. The interior will keep its luxury feel, with some improvements. As for the powertrain, the 2015 Infiniti Q70 will have the V-6 and V-8 engines which power the current model, as well as the hybrid option.


2015 Infiniti Q70 Exterior Appearance

Thanks to the new front bumper and new foglights, the 2015 Infiniti Q70 looks more powerful. Its front fascia is revised, so there are new headlights and a new grille. All those changes won’t affect the overall appearance, which will be traditionally curvy and fluid. The rear-end had some design changes regarding the LED taillights and the trunk lid. Aside from these basic changes, the Sport version also comes with wider front bumper, 20-inch alloy wheels and masculine rear bumper. Thanks to those changes they managed to low the drag coefficient, which is now between 0.26 and 0.28, so the 2015 Q70 is expected to have better fuel economy thanks to the improved aerodynamics. The 2015 Infiniti Q70L is 7.3 inches longer, with 5.9 inches longer wheelbase. Other dimensions are the same as before.


2015 Infiniti Q70 Interior Changes And Features

The manufacturer decided to make some changes of the interior, too. Of course, the most obvious change is brought by the Q70L, which provided 5.6 inches longer legroom and 5.9 inches longer knee room. The interior of the 2015 Inifiniti Q70 is designed just like it’s expected of a luxury sedan. They used a lot of leather, carefully crafted wood and other premium materials. There’s a superb audio system and a 7-inch display at the center stack. Aside from the heated power front seats, which can be adjusted in ten ways, the comfort and convenience are enhanced by numerous other features. There is a dual-zone climate control, Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity and Infiniti Connection telematics. The 2015 Infiniti Q70L comes with heated rear seats, 12V power outlets and automatic rear doors. Both the standard and the L version of this sedan will have lowered noise level in the cabin, thanks to the improved sound insulation, better sealing and active noise control. As for the safety, there are a 360-degree monitor, emergency brake system, forward collision alert etc.

2015 Infiniti Q70 Engine Options — V-6, V-8 & Hybrid

Like we already mentioned, the 2015 Infiniti Q70 will inherit the powertrains which are already in use at the current model. There is a standard 3.7-liter V-6 engine, which delivers 330 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. The more powerful engine option is a 5.6-liter V-8 unit, with 420 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque. The 2015 Infiniti Q70 hybrid powertrain has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine which generates 302 horsepower and an electric motor, which contributes with 67 horsepower. There’s no hybrid option available with the Q70L version. As before, there’s the Drive Mode Selector which provides four modes — Standard, Sport, Snow and Eco. The 2015 Infiniti Q70 will have a 7-speed automatic transmission, which comes with every engine option. While rear-wheel drive is standard, there is all-wheel drive offered and it’s available for both versions, except the hybrid powertrain.

2015 Infiniti Q70 Release Date

There is no reliable information regarding the release date of this mid-size sedan, but it will probably be available by the fall this year.
