2015 Hyundai Sonata Changes – Spy Shots

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata official presentation will be held in April at the 2014 New York Auto Show. This new mid-size sedan successfully passed the test phase in the U.S. The photos of it under camouflage were taken at the Nürburgring, where some of the last tests took place. In spite of the protective layers of camouflage, we can see certain changes. The new 2015 Hyundai Sonata will have a larger grille. Besides that, the hood in this model is raised more in comparison with it’s predecessor.

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata changes will not be drastic. It will have some facelift, but we should not expect a total redesign. The current model is modern enough, so the manufacturer will exploit it, until it becomes necessary to make some major changes. However, if they want to sell the 2015 Hyundai Sonata as a new mid-size sedan, they had to do something. Like we mentioned before, the redesigned grille and the repositioned hood are distinctive marks that will make the new 2015 Sonata look refreshed. If our sources’ claims are honest, the headlights got a new LED technology. The opposite side of the Sonata, the rear end, will resemble of Hyundai’s other sedans – Equus and Genesis. The interior had no significant redesign. The dashboard will look as before. However, comfort and enjoyment in ride will be enhanced by front seats multilevel heating, dual-zone climate control and air filtration. The 2015 Hyundai Sonata trim levels offer cruise, audio and transmission controls on the steering wheel, satellite navigation, speed-proportional power steering, cruise control etc.

The engine options offered with the current model will be enriched by a 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel, which can produce up to 200 hp and will be able to make the 2015 Hyundai Sonata pass 40 MPG on an open road. Since this is not an official information, the new engine option is not granted to be implemented. Some speculations claim that the new 1.6-liter engine will replace the currently offered 2.4-liter engine, which delivers the same amount of horse power. The other 2015 Hyundai Sonata engine options are a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine which delivers 274 hp and a V-6 which can be seen in the current Sonata model. Every engine will be mated by six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2015 Hyundai Sonata price will probably be announced at the presentation in April, but estimations are that it won’t change much in comparison with the price of the current model. If that’s true, the new 2015 Hyundai Sonata will cost around $21,000 for a basic model. Since the official presentation will be in April and the production is planned to start in fall 2014, the new Sonata will be available in November or December 2014.
