2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe and Sedan Release

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe and Sedan will make the next year much more interesting. Coupe is expected to be released in the middle of the next year and Sedan will have it’s premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Hyundai will make 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe based on the HND-9 concept, which is depicted in this images. There are some details which make the new Genesis Coupe really remarkable. The extended size of the hood and hexagonal, Hyundai recognizable grille are impressive when it comes to appearance. Nevertheless, this details will be out of the picture when you see the butterfly doors.

This doors will open wide, to the B/C pillar, but we are sceptical about the possibility of implementing this solution in a non-concept model. It may be uncommon, it maybe can cause some issues, someone can hate it, but nobody can be indifferent. If you have an unorthodox automotive dreams, you will be delighted; if you like to draw attention and fancy an extravagant moments, this would be enough to make a decision to buy the new 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. But, the truth is, no one knows which of the aforementioned new design details Hyundai developed will be applied to the actual 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

When it comes to the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe powertrain, we have an information which says that it will be equipped with a turbocharged V-6 3.3-liter engine which delivers up to 370 horsepower. This engine will be paired with an automatic eight-speed transmission. The overall length will be 185″ and the wheelbase will be 113″ long, so the new coupe will be slightly longer than it’s predecessor.

There’s an opinion that Hyundai will also install a 5.0-liter or even a 5.5-l V-8 engine with 470 hp. It was, perhaps, based on the fact that this great body needs a stronger engine option, but the manufacturer said nothing about it. Therefore, it is highly unlikely to happen.

Like it was mentioned before, the Detroit Auto Show will host the 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan world premiere in January 2014. There is a vast number of improvements and changes in this brand new sedan. It will be mostly based on HCD-14 concept and it will be the first sedan made by Hyundai which will have all-wheel drive.

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan will be slightly larger than Hyundai Equus, the biggest sedan made in Hyundai factories. It will be 1.6″ longer and 3.3″ wider.

There was a possibility that Hyundai creates sub-brand Genesis, like other car manufacturers’ premium brands, but in the end they decided to keep Genesis under the name of Hyundai. The plan is to let the Genesis brand take over the Hyundai brand and emancipate itself by it’s premium characteristics.

The proof that their plan is working so far is the JD Power and Associates award Hyundai Genesis won. It is won by Genesis’ “highest initial quality in the premium mid-size vehicles”.
