2015 Hyundai Azera mid-Cycle Update — Are Those Changes Improving Enough?
The 2014 Miami Auto Show was honored to host the premiere of the 2015 Hyundai Azera. The fact that the automaker decided not to unveil the updated Azera at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show depicts their intention to clearly stratify their sedan range. The 2015 model year won’t bring some radical changes, but still, the refreshed Hyundai Azera will be noticeably better. Thanks to the changes, the 2015 Azera is looking better than before, but the appearance isn’t the only aspect they improved. The sedan’s interior has also been refreshed by the center stack changes. The refreshed Azera will also have the latest technology. A lot of gadgets and systems will be standard. Although the automotive public could appreciate a new engine option, the 2015 Azera will have just this one mill, carried over from the current model. The 3.3-liter V6 isn’t a bad choice, but they could expand the engine range in order to make the updated Azera more attractive to the wider audience.
2015 Hyundai Azera Exterior Changes
The exterior of the 2015 Hyundai Azera is refreshed. The changes aren’t radical, they’re rather mild, but they are significant, since they really improved the sedan’s appearance. With new front fascia, where the front bumper and restyled grille changed the character of the 2015 Azera, this car now looks more modern and appealing. Some trim levels will also get a new pair of fog lights based on LED technology. The automaker decided to improve the wheels, too, so the sedan got new wheels design. Of course, 18-inch wheels are standard.
Interior And Technology
The manner of the exterior changes is kept on the inside, too. They have redesigned the center stack, but the change won’t drastically improve the experience in the Azera’s cabin. However, the new technology will probably be yet another upside and push in the right direction for those who’ve already considered buying the 2015 Hyundai Azera. The manufacturer installed the latest Blue Link interface. This very useful feature will certainly make the sedan more attractive than before. Aside from the Blue Link interface, the 2015 Azera will be equipped with standard rear cross traffic alert, lane change assist, blind spot detection and other safety features, as well as some convenience details. The infotainment system is displayed on an eight-inch LCD screen.
Old Powertrain and New EPA Fuel Economy
As we already said, the 2015 Hyundai Azera is coming with the same powertrain as the current version. This means that the 3.3-liter V6 engine, whose power output isn’t trifling, since it’s rated at 293 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of twist, isn’t going anywhere for a while. Probably, the V6 will be around until the next generation of the Hyundai Azera. The mill is connected to the standard six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2014 model year with the same powertrain returns 19 mpg/city and 29 mpg/highway. The 2015 Hyundai Azera has the same powertrain and yet it’s EPA fuel economy ratings are slightly better. Of course, no one could expect a dramatic improvement, so the sedan’s fuel efficiency is quite satisfactory with 20 mpg/city and 29 mpg/highway.
2015 Hyundai Azera Pricing and Release
Currently, there’s no reliable information about the pricing and the release date of the 2015 Hyundai Azera. However, the expectations are that the sedan is going to be released early next year. As for the price, the base 2015 Azera might cost slightly more than the current version, but the price raise shouldn’t be drastically higher. The current Azera starts from $31,895.
