2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition Features & Specs
The 2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition is a blacked-out iteration of the famous mid-size truck. The unique dark appearance is what makes this truck so special.
All the earlier announcements were pretty accurate, but no one could know how exactly the Canyon will look when GM implements the Nightfall Edition package to the stock version. At the 2015 NAIAS, they unveiled the blacked-out pickup truck.
The exterior of the 2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition is very specific. From the distinctive black grille to the polished exhaust tips, the special edition truck has a unique aura. All the exterior features work together in order to provide “a shadowy appearance”, as the automaker says.
There are numerous details which can be immediately spotted. The bespoke black grille and Onyx Black paintjob make the Nightfall Edition really different. At the front fascia there’s virtually nothing that stands out besides the big red GMC lettering logo because of the equable black feel. Of course, the headlights and the fog lights underline the contrast.
The 2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition comes with black assist steps and a set of 18-inch aluminum multi-spoke wheels with Dark Argent inserts. Add a factory spray-in bedliner and you’ll have the Nightfall Edition completed.
“The new Canyon Nightfall Edition expands the Canyon lineup and gives style-conscious customers another choice,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “Importantly, customers get the great looks of the Canyon Nightfall Edition and its unique content at a greater value than ordering the features separately.”
The Nightfall Edition comes with SLE crew cab only, but there are 2WD and 4WD models available.
2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition Engine Options
As for the powertrain, there are two engine options. There’s a standard 2.5-liter inline-four engine that’s good for 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque and there’s a more powerful engine option, a 3.6-liter V6 mill which delivers 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque.
This truck doesn’t come with just a number of cosmetic features. It has an automatic climate control and a remote start feature as standard. The list of standard equipment doesn’t end here.
There’s a rear-view camera, OnStar 4G LTE with standard Wi-Fi hotspot (with three month or 3GB trial), GMC IntelliLink with eight-inch Color Touch radio, SiriusXM satellite radio (with three month trial), keyless entry, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, an automatic locking rear differential on 4WD powertrain and a number of other features.
EPA Fuel Economy Specs
The 2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition comes with impressive EPA fuel economy. The 2.5-liter inline-four engine mated with 2WD returns 27 mpg on a highway. The V6 version with 2WD can reach 26 mpg. According to GM, the V6 mill is what makes them really proud, because of its great trailering specs (7,000 pounds).
2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition Price and Release
They haven’t announced the pricing yet, but the expectations are that the 2015 Canyon Nightfall Edition will cost more than the regular version with the SLE Crew Cab. As for the release, the exact date isn’t known, but it’s known that it’s going to be available in the second quarter of the year.
