Ford Racing EcoBoost Tuning: 2015 Ford Mustang Boost Coming Late 2015
The 2015 Ford Mustang will have an easy tuning option next fall. Ford has announced that the 2015 Mustang, with a 2.3-liter inline-four EcoBoost engine, will get its calibration using the Ford Racing ProCal device. Thanks to the Ford Racing’s ProCal programing handset, available for $595, you can significantly improve your EcoBoost engine.
They are aware that aftermarket tuning is attractive, so they offer an affordable boosting option which will leave your car with the warranty. Without alternate engine parts and dirty mechanical work, you can improve an EcoBoost mill by just changing its software. If you stay within the manufacturer’s tuning limitations, your car will have additional horsepower and torque as well as the same warranty.
For example, the Ford Racing ProCal device can tune the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine installed in the Focus ST for additional 90 lb-ft of torque and the warranty will be intact. It’s still secret how much horsepower and torque the 2015 Ford Mustang might get using the ProCal handset, but if they manage to boost its four-cylinder EcoBoost for the same amount of power and twist, it will be great.
Currently, this engine generates 310 bhp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Imagine a Mustang with 2.3-liter four-cylinder and 400 lb-ft of twist.
Ford Racing calibrations might not be enough for some, but if you want a safe and efficient solution that will improve your car’s EcoBoost four-cylinder, this is a cheap, easy and elegant solution. It changes throttle response, spark timing, fuel curves, idle speed or turbo waste gate control.
